It can be interesting to understand the history of the automobile that we currently have. The contemporary automobile is classic, comfortable, speedy and the appearance it attractive. There are various models depending on the comfort you want and cost of the car.Therefore, the following are the events that happened from the beginning of the first car.
It is 1769 that the first automobile was made. The automobiles that were being used in the past looked different from the modern cars. They looked more of horse carriages.Then, people thought that it would be better to have carriages that were not being pulled by horses. They discovered that the solution was to make carriages with engines. The carriages that were developed were called horseless carriages although they did not take off impressively.
An internal engine that consumed petrol energy was invented in 1876 by a German called Nikolas Otto.The first time that a usable engine was made was at this time.Later on the engine was tested on experimental cars that used petrol as the main source of fuel.
Cars that consumed petrol were designed in 1885 by mechanics and engineers and were made available to citizens. Those cars cannot be compared with the modern cars because they were too slow and they had three wheels only like bicycle wheels.
The first more reliable car was made in 1908. It was called Ford Model T, and it was better to drive this car. The car was available to many people because it was produced in large quantities. This made the car affordable to many people as the production in large quantities lowered the production cost.
Volkswagen Beetle was the first car that became popular. Due to the Second World War, the manufacture of Volkswagen beetle was stopped after it had been designed in the 1930s by Ferdinand Porsche.The car became popular to many people because it was not expensive to run, it was strong, and it was not easy to break down.
Many countries all over the world in the 1950s did have disposable income, and they could show their wealth by purchasing big cars and then customize them. Among the car parts that were being used were fins, tail lights, electronic windows and they became famous. Unluckily, the large cars used a lot of petrol although it was affordable since people had money.
Cars started becoming famous in the 1960s with people like James Bond who used to drive Aston Martin. Though, cars had not reached to many people in the world until in the 1980s.
